Eagle Creek is a lot
of fun :) We spent some time this week with Muslims and I learned a lot!
1 from Kenya, a lot of them from Somalia and Sudan. Me and Elder
Chapple went on an exchange (because I love him) and we taught a Muslim.
He let us come in an teach him, he spoke a little bit of English but we
focused the lesson on the Old Testament because they believe in it up
to the New Testament. This week Sheila dropped us... We were trying to
help her quit smoking and she said she needs to take time away from
Church. Hope everything goes good with her. Here's a funny story. This
week we were talking about being tools in the Hand of the Lord and I
looked at Elder Chapple and said "You're used for blunt force trauma"
and he said "Yep, I'm used for blunt force trauma" hahaha. <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1497188053" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ"> </span></span><br />
<br />
<span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1497188053" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">On Tuesday</span></span>
we had a very good lesson with Evan! Evan is someone we found knocking
doors. I said "We're representatives of Jesus Christ" and he said "I
know I listen to the Book of Mormon on my phone" and he went to the
Temple Open House. We had a very good lesson on the Book of Mormon and
receiving Spiritual Revelation and gave him a Book of Mormon to read.
Elder Chapple and I then went to visit a Liberian man named Samuel. He
really wanted us to come by. We sat down and talked to him for about an
hour about the Restoration and he told us his life story of how he made
it from Liberia to hear and the trials he went through. We contacted a
referral later in the day who wanted a Bible and Book of Mormon, and we
taught her the Plan of Salvation. <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1497188054" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">Wednesday</span></span> morning we gave a blessing to a Sister in our ward who had neck surgery so we went to the Hospital and got that taken care of. <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1497188055" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ"> </span></span><br />

<span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1497188055" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">On Thursday</span></span>
the Merrill's took us out to lunch at Teppanyaki a Grill and Buffet.
After that all 4 of us went to this Apartment complex and knocked doors
and talked to people there. It was pretty much a Somalian Village. We
visited Mike and Alice Davis later in the evening, they are a part
member family. Alice is a very strong active member, and Mike struggles
with Alcohol and Smoking so we visit them and support them. <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1497188056" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ"> </span></span><br />
<br />
<span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1497188056" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">On Friday</span></span>
morning we contacted another referral who wanted a Bible and Book of
Mormon but we only talked to her for about 5 minutes because she had to
get to court. We had District meeting and then we helped some members
with Construction on their house. We were on exchanges with the Avon
missionaries for the weekend. Also, the White River missionaries had a
baptism this week. 2 hours before the baptism, he called and said he
didn't think he'd be able to get baptized. Elder Allred and I jumped in
the car and went over to his apartment and talked to him and he decided
he would follow through with the baptism. He then bore a powerful
testimony at the baptism about the Adversary attacking him when he was
about to do something very good but the missionaries being right next to
him to push him and help him through.<br />
<br />
After the baptism we helped a
Muslim family move and that took the whole night, but I'm very glad we
got to help them because the wife had a baby 10 days earlier and it was
just the Husband and 1 other guy unloading the truck, but 6 Mormon
missionaries came along and took care of them :) <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1497188057" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">On Sunday</span></span> Daryl came to church! He's an investigator. He called us at <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1497188058" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">8:53</span></span>
and wanted to come to church at 9 so we can with a member and picked
him up. That night we taught Josh the Law of Chastity and put him on
date to be baptized for <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1497188059" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">May 6</span></span> and he asked me to baptize him so I'm excited for that! I love you guys! <br />

Father to have the ability to find, teach and baptize families.
Missionary work is so much fun. I have a fire to constantly do it,
because it can be exciting. This week we brought Elder Kretschmer and
Elder Breiter into our area and "blitzed" which just means all 4
missionaries work the area. We had the Read's for dinner and they made a
bunch of Salmon and Tilapia for dinner which was good :) We had a
normal P-day before that, played 21 (basketball) went to the field in
downtown and ran routes and threw a football around and we did some
footwork with a ladder! We went on a nice jog and went to GNC, i love
P-days :) Tuesday morning we went to the Bishops Storehouse and did
service and I got to talk to Brother Lane from the East Side of
Indianapolis :) We worked all day, and we had a lesson with Daryl
Robinson and he told us his whole story about how he was going down bad
roads in his life and he needed help and he prayed and we knocked on his
door. We taught him the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ this
time, we need to help him understand the importance of being baptized by
authority :) We took Elder Kretschmer and Elder Breiter back to their
area which is close to downtown and then went to this less active's
house to try and mow their lawn.<br />
<br />
On Wednesday we went out to the
Dobsen's, they are members in the Brownsburg Ward and they are building a
house so we helped them paint their house and did some caulking. That
night we had dinner at a Mexican Restaraunt with Sister Hodsen :) We
then went and visited Coralie the investigator me and Elder Chapple
we're teaching! It was good to visit her again. They are teaching her
and trying to get her to come to church so she can be baptized. On
Thursday we had interviews with President Carlson, I love seeing him.
He's such a good mission president. On Friday we had Mission Leadership
Council at the Mission Home in Carmel. It was from <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1497188079" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">10-4:30</span></span>
so all day but Sister Carlson makes very good lunch :) I also got a
Samsung Tablet from President Carlson to give back to Elder Chapple,
President had to take it away from Elder Chapple a while ago :) This is a
quote from Elder Chapple for the week "I don't always stay on the
straight and narrow path, but I cross it as much as I can". He is my
favorite person I've met on my mission hahaha. That night we went over
and visited Coralie again and taught her about the Law of Chastity and
it was a good lesson!<br />
<br />
That night Elder Allred and Elder Dunyon stayed
the night at our apartment and went on exchanges with us the next day.
We had such a good day on Saturday, we got 8 New Investigators! A new
investigator just means we taught them doctrine, and set up a return
appointment with a day and time and they accepted to it. We knocked a
lot of doors! 7 of the new investigators are Nigerian :) One of the
coolest things that happened is me and Elder Allred are knocking doors
in this apartment complex and the guy answer the door, I say "Hey we are
Representatives of Jesus Christ, just sharing his gospel today" and he
says "Oh Yeah I listen to the Book of Mormon on my phone all the time" I
was like what??? and then he told us he went to the Temple Open house!
He ended up coming to church yesterday and we are going back to teach
him tomorrow :) Later in the day me and Elder Dunyon were together and a
Liberian man answers the door and says "Are you from the Church of
Jesus Mormon?" I don't know what that is? "But ya we're from there" He
said he was not interested so we said alright and went our ways. About <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1497188080" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">40 minutes later</span></span>
we're walking in the apartment complex and he started waving us down
from his car, it's a good thing Elder Dunyon was with me because I
didn't even see the guy. We went up to his car and he said "Would you
guys be willing to teach me about the Mormons? Can you guys set an
appointment and visit me? I want to know what Mormons believe. Someone
gave me a Book of Mormon and I need to read it. When I told you guys to
leave the first time I closed the door and wondered why did I do that?"
So we are going back to teach him tomorrow :) I told him I have a friend
in Liberia (Deion) and I told him the cities Deion was in and he
thought that was cool.<br />
<br />
Later in the day, Elder Peterson, Elder Dunyon,
Elder Allred and I went over to Sheila's and put her on baptismal date
for <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1497188081" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">May 6</span></span>
and helped encourage her to quit smoking :) She is making progress.
That night we had a Cookout at the Tingey's (Members) and 3
investigators were there! The next day at church we had 4 investigators
at Sacrament Meeting and we had 4 last week as well :) Yesterday we went
to a Easter lunch at our Ward mission Leaders house and then went to a
Easter Dinner at a Part member families house, and finished the day
visiting and talking to Nigerians in this apartment complex :) I know
that Jesus Christ directs the work we do and it's because of him we can
do this work and this is his church :) He Lives. I love you guys so much
and miss you. Happy Easter!Amy Hadfieldhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06166778519179405975noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7958396725242875303.post-52030824165983199732017-04-10T08:26:00.000-07:002017-04-25T08:26:53.955-07:00April 10, 2017Everything is going good in Indianapolis right now. I'm companions with
Elder Peterson (whose grandparents live in Bountiful) but he's lived in
Jerusalem, Beijing, Niger Africa + more. He's a good kid and we're
enjoying our time together! I love it because he'll work out and go on
runs with me, which not every companion will do :) We work out twice a
day with the little time we have! We work out for 30 minutes at <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1497188082" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">6:30 am</span></span>
and at night go on runs. We make a couple stops at GNC as well ;) We
actually go make friends with the people that work there and they ask
about what we do as missionaries and what church we're from. I don't
have any more room in my cubbard to buy more stuff from GNC though haha!
On Monday we had a lot of fun. We played basketball and went on a run
from the White River chapel to downtown Indy! Me Elder Cox, and Elder
Allred ran to the City Center Mall. It's huge. It was a good P-day!<br />
<br />
Tuesday morning we went to the Bishop's Storehouse and did service there
filling food orders! We had a great day, we just started knocking doors
in this apartment complex and found 3 new investigators, 1 came to
church yesterday! Brother Donaldson from the Missionary Department/70
came and taught us a new way to teach which was completely inspired and
changes the whole way lessons go. People we talk to love it and are a
lot more interested. It's crazy how much it changed. That day we had an
appointment with Daryl Robinson, we taught him the Plan of Salvation and
he loved it, towards the end of the lesson he started falling asleep so
I was like "Alright, we'll say a prayer and end" but then we found out
it's because he took his medicine that makes him fall asleep :) He came
to church yesterday and said to me "God answers prayers, that's why you
guys knocked on my door and I know this is where I need to be". He has
went through a lot in his life. I sat with him during sacrament meeting
and had a thought and feeling that he was someone I needed to find and
teach and help come to church. I love that feeling. This week I got in
contact with a member from Zimbabwe! I was on Lds.org looking through
the ward directory and found some names that looked like African names
and I wanted to call them :) It's a good thing I did because he wants to
start coming back to church! He was baptized in 2007, we had no idea
who he was, and he hasn't been able to come to church! We are going to
be working with him this week.<br />
<br />
This week I gave a baptismal interview to
a lady about 30 years old. Her mom is Catholic and on Wednesday the
missionaries went over to prepare her for the baptism that was to happen
on Saturday and she told them "You know what, I don't want to get
baptized, the Catholic Church is for me" they then found out that
because there was no church on Sunday because of General Conference, she
went to Catholic mass with her mom and the Priest there told her not to
be baptized in this church + a lot more. She asked the missionaries all
these questions, they answered them and she felt again that she needed
to get baptized into this church :) She was baptized on Saturday! We got
to attend and be the witnesses for the baptism. She has no legs, but
still took the leap of faith and was baptized. It was a special
experience and a lot of missionaries were there to support her! On
Saturday we got to help out with a Mission Readiness Conference for the
youth in the Indianapolis West Stake. We went to the Brownsburg building
and we helped prepare the youth to go on a mission. We answered
questions, shared our testimony, shared with them the importance of
Preach my Gospel and helped them teach a lesson.<br />
<br />
Sunday was a very good
day! We had a lot of investigators at church! Actually 1 woke up late,
we texted her and got her to come to the next sacrament meeting for the
Zionsville Ward, where me and Elder Hauck sat by her :) We had our Ward
Mission Leader meeting and then Christina and Josh had us over and made
some authentic mexican food :) We then went straight to a meeting with
President Carlson (Mission President) President Anderson (Stake
President) and a High Councilman and the Sister missionaries who are at
the YSA. We talked about the people in the Stake that are on baptismal
date and being taught by missionaries and how we can help them. They're
always very good meetings and I love President Carlson, and President
Anderson. We then went to a members house and blessed/dedicated her
home, since she just moved in there :) It was a busy week! Elder
Peterson says this is the busiest he's ever been. I love you guys and
miss you! - Elder Clark<br />

funniest things that's happened. So Elder Peterson, Elder Hauck, and
Elder Chapple and I are in the car, and about 3 cars behind us a car
gets hit and there is a car accident. we heard the whole thing because
it was pretty loud. I parked the car and we got out to see if everyone
was okay (Elder Chapple had a first aid kit) in his backpack. Me and
Elder Hauck stayed back so their weren't too many people going up there,
but Elder Chapple and Elder Peterson went. They get up there and a
police officer got their at about the same time. Everyone was okay and
Elder Chapple and Elder Peterson start walking back. Elder Chapple says
"If that police officer wasn't there I would have pulled rank and told
them I'm a sergeant in the Marine core and everyone needs to calm down
and tell me what's going on and I'll them what to do, I have my photo ID
on me" hahaha you gotta know Elder Chapple to know exactly how funny
this was. He also texted President Carlson and said "You hear that,
church sleep is the Healthiest of all sleeps" after President Uchtdorf
said it at Conference. President Carlson responded with "That's how I
know you're one of the healthiest missionaries". Elder Chapple is one of
a kind. I loved Conference, and got a lot out of it. I like what was
said "The Lord promises to direct our paths, but first we have to walk".
I also really liked President Eyring's talk to open the Saturday
morning session of Conference. He taught the Plan of Salvation so well.
They are all so inspired. It was a lot of fun to go out and do
missionary work in between sessions of Conference. We found a lady as we
were knocking on doors and after giving her a #PrinceofPeace card for
the new Easter initiative, she told us she is Lds. She just moved here
and is not on our records. I think we were led to her. She was sick and
not able to talk to us for more then a minute, but we are going to go
back soon. We'll start now from the top of the week!<br />
<br />
<div>
<b>Monday</b> -
Monday we played basketball all day, and it was my last full day with
Elder Abhau as a companion! It was a busy day, we said Goodbyes to
everyone and he finished up his packing. We said goodbye to the Bokish
family and they gave him the traditional homemade Cinnamon rolls, they
all tried to get me to eat one, but it did not work :) The Fergusons
gave him a shirt straight from Liberia! They are converts to the church
and live close to us in our apartment complex. Sam has been a member for
2 years and has lived in America for 3 years and his wife Edwina has
been a member for just a couple months. We also visited Sheila, and she
is still trying to overcome smoking, she has smoked for 40 years.</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
<b>Tuesday</b>
- Tuesday was transfer day, and quite an adventure. On the way home
from Fishers I got ourselves slightly lost and so we took a nice detour
through downtown Indianapolis. I later realized why, and it was because
on the way home I had people come to mind, and I felt I needed to visit
them. They are in the old Eagle Creek area I was in, after visiting
them, I told Elder Chapple and Elder Hauck they need to stop by and talk
to them. After going by they found out they really need this message in
their life right now. They would not have came to my mind, if I
wouldn't have took the wrong way. Sometimes God's plan A is our plan B
:) I did not even take Elder Peterson back to the apartment to unpack,
we just did missionary work all day haha until <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1497188083" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">8 pm</span></span> when we went back to the apartment to get settled in.</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
<b>Wednesday</b>
- On Wednesday we got to finally go teach the whole Plan of Salvation
to Ose. She came to church and got confused in Gospel Principles because
the lesson was on Resurrection, and she didn't understand anything
before or after that so we went and cleared things up. We knocked doors
and tried to talk to as many people as possible and pushed the Easter
Initiative and invited everyone to watch it on <a data-saferedirecturl="https://www.google.com/url?hl=en&q=http://mormon.org&source=gmail&ust=1493220419513000&usg=AFQjCNEyfSM1BYTrZNzMA1ApcEq4-BGbkA" href="http://mormon.org/" target="_blank">mormon.org</a> It's actually one of my favorite videos ever. I like the music! </div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
<b>Thursday</b>
- Thursday we went to the Sports complex and did service there for a
couple hours! It was a good time. We cleaned up their baseball fields
and got to drive golf carts as we did it. After we finished that, I took
Elder Peterson to Wal-mart because we had not yet went to the grocery
store this week. We then got haircuts from Brother Cheek! He always does
a very good job and never charges us. In the evening we had a meeting
we went to, and we were the only missionaries there with the Bishops,
Stake Presidency, and Ward mission leaders of the Stake, and they
discussed the Rescue effort for less active single priesthood holders.</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
<b>Friday</b>
- Friday we drove to Plainfield which is about 30 minutes away and
conducted 2 baptismal interviews for a dad and daughter. They were
baptized the following day. In the evening we got a text and a member
needed help moving so we pretty much had to drop everything we were
doing and go help with a move.</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
<b>Saturday</b> - Saturday
morning we helped another member move, then quickly went home and
changed and went to the Merrill's to watch Conference. We watched the
afternoon session at the Dresen's and they had a crepe bar which was
very good :) In the evening we went and watched Priesthood session at
the Brownsburg building. </div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
<b>Sunday </b>- Sunday morning we
went by a referral we received and it turned out to be great! We talked
to him for about 15 minutes until we had to leave to watch Conference.
He said at the end "You guys better come back". We then headed to the
Ford's to watch Conference! DeShawn came to the Ford's which was very
good. He is an investigator me and Elder Chapple found when we were
together. We knocked doors and found some people for the 2 hours in
between sessions. We watched the next session again at the Merrill's. In
the evening I took Elder Hauck to some people that I taught and talked
to a lot in their area, to show him where they lived. It was a lot of
fun :)</div>
<div>
I love you guys very much and miss you a lot! </div>
Amy Hadfieldhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06166778519179405975noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7958396725242875303.post-76558482837948306652017-03-27T09:28:00.000-07:002017-03-30T09:32:41.827-07:00March 27, 2017<span style="font-size: small;">So here's the news, I will be staying in Eagle Creek (Indianapolis) and
my new companion will be Elder Peterson! Elder Abhau is headed to the
Crossroads Ward (East Side Indianapolis) for his last 2 months. Elder
Peterson is a brand new Zone Leader so I guess I'm training him for
that, I don't know if I know what I'm doing though? Haha just kidding.
This week was a great week. On Monday we brought a bunch of weights and
work out stuff to the White River Chapel and my P-day consisted of
working out, playing basketball and going on a run through Downtown
Indianapolis. I love this area. On Tuesday we went to the Bishop's
Storehouse and did service, it's always a good time and we get a lot
done! Later in the day on Tuesday we were trying to figure out something
effective and good to do, instead of just knocking on doors, so I
thought, "Let's go to the hospitals in our area and sign up for clergy"
There is 1 hospital in our area and it's a Catholic Hospital so we
searched the hospital for a spot to sign up, and usually they're in the
chapel so we went there and found out it's where they hold Catholic
Mass, I thought about leaving a Book of Mormon in there but I decided
not to haha. On Wednesday we did a lot of planning in the morning, and
we dropped off some Cheerwine and Cake to Bishop Stephens at his
courthouse! He loved it. Haha I like Bishop Stephens a lot. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: small;">We then had a
request from a Less Active member that he needed the presence of all 4
missionaries at his apartment this week. Elder Chapple brought a sword,
so that always makes things fun. This less active member is the go to
man when you want a fun experience. He went on to tell us "3 people can
keep a secret if 2 of them are dead" and then proceeded to tell us a
secret. Later in the evening we had dinner with Sheila and then drove
way out to Danville which is a small town in our Zone and I gave a
baptismal interview to a lady that the Avon 1 Elders are teaching. The
best part of the week was going to play some "beat to teach" basketball
at this apartment complex with about 30 people. I'm going to copy and
paste the way my companion Elder Abhau described it, so here it is</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: small;">.<span>since
it was a really nice day, we decided to go to the park and try some
beat-to-teach basketball. Unfortunately, the wind was blowing pretty
strong (I know, excuses), so we had some trouble knocking in our
3-pointers. We didn't beat anybody, so we didn't teach anybody. We did,
however get enough second-hand </span><i>pakalolo</i></span><span style="font-size: 12.8px;"><span style="font-size: small;"> (Hawaiian
for a well-known (and, around here, popular) illicit substance) fumes
to bring me to the point of nausea. And so we decided that that was
enough basketball. They also thought we were Jehovah Witness and said
the reason we were beating them was because we had God, I assured them
that we are not Jehovah Witnesses haha. </span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: 12.8px;"><span style="font-size: small;">We then headed to the other
Eagle Creek Elders apartment and picked up dinner from a member and went
back to our apartment so Elder Abhau could start packing! While he
packed I worked out and ran sprints outside (We opened up the windows so
he could see me) so we were still following all the rules! <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1316656379"><span class="aQJ">Saturday</span></span>
morning, us and some of the Elders Quorum helped our investigator
Sheila move boxes from her storage unit to her house, which went well,
but then after that we went to go help another member move and it turned
out me and Elder Abhau were the only ones to show up, he did not have a
truck and nothing was in boxes so we helped him for about 4 hours
getting the necessities to his new place but then had to get going for
our dinner appointment! <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1316656380"><span class="aQJ">Sunday</span></span>
we had a really good day at church, and Elder Abhau said his goodbyes!
That's the week! I'm very excited for it to start getting warmer,
everyone will start coming outside and we'll be able to play basketball
with them! I love you guys and miss you very much! </span></span><br />

It mostly consisted
of Sore throat, chills, Fever, it was not fun! All the missionaries make
fun of me for how much I wash my hands, and I still get the flu with
how healthy I eat! Oh well it only lasted for about a day or two and
then I got a lot better. I'm feeling good now. This week we went to the
Midwest Sports Complex and did service. A lot of people there drink
beer, so much beer, and so they through all their cans in the trash cans
there and they sit for months and months and we had to clean them out
and it smelt so bad! It was so nasty. It smells worse then just normal
beer and the people through full cans away. It spilt all over Elder
Quick and he was gagging about to throw up haha.<br />
<br />
This week at District
meeting Elder Abhau stabbed his hand and had to get stitches. Elder
Chapple brought 1 of his huge knives to district meeting for an
activity, so Elder Abhau stabbed a cardboard box, his hand was holding
the other side and it went through and pierced his hand pretty good. So
we ran him to the urgent care and he got 3 stitches. This week we went
over to an investigators house, he invited us inside and it smelled like
Marijuana really strong. We sat down and started talking to him and he
told us about how he wants to quit smoking. We talked about the Book of
Mormon and read out of it with him. He accepted it and wants to start
reading it!<br />
<br />
This week we had a lesson with Sheila, we've been showing
her talks from Apostles like Jeffrey R Holland, David A Bednar and Henry
B Eyring. She loves listening to them. This week we showed her the
Mormon message "Mountains to Climb" because she is now overcoming
smoking. We also have talked to her about what David A Bednar talked
about when he said "Do we simply just know who the Savior is, or are we
continually coming to know of him and are we getting closer to him?"<br />
<br />
Also, pretty soon this mission will be getting Samsung tablets and maybe
even phones. They want us to have nice technology to help with the
work. They want us to be able to skype members into lessons, or make
group chats with members and investigators on Facebook messenger, 1
thing it would help with is say maybe an investigator gets anti and
wonders about Polygamy, they go to the group chat and ask "Hey I have a
question about this, they ask a friend or 2 that are members, the
members answer it and everything is better". So missionary work will
change a bit. Elder Donaldson said they (The missionary department) and
the Quorom of the 12 want us to have technology now, they're just
getting everything set up so it will work out good. They said We have to
have technology just because the need for missionary work is increasing
and there are too many people that are always on phones and media that
we have to try and go that route. I love you guys and miss you!Amy Hadfieldhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06166778519179405975noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7958396725242875303.post-49311388022536851472017-03-13T12:36:00.000-07:002017-03-21T12:41:20.596-07:00March 13, 2017This week Brother Lee Donaldson of the 70 visited our mission with
Brother Sean Cates. They both work for the Missionary Department. They
were hilarious. This was a comment made by Brother Donaldson "A lot of
Protestant and Catholics think they won't be in family units after this
life, or do they want to be, they are fine being in "Heaven" or in the
presence of Heavenly Father or Jesus Christ for a time. He said That's
pretty much what we call the Terrestrial Kingdom, and they'll probably
get there thinking there in Heaven and be like I knew it! Those Mormons
aren't here!" haha it was hilarious. He taught us a lot of new ways to
teach people and while teaching us he said, rarely you should ever ask
someone you just met, to say an opening prayer before you teach them, In
M. Russell Ballard's Apostolic language he says "It is dumb" hahaha
just because they won't be comfortable so we should always offer to say
the prayer.<br />
<br />
Also another funny part from the week, So we spend a lot of
time with Elder Chapple and Elder Hauck, and they were tracting and ran
into a Nigerian man who wanted them to come back, they gave him a card
and on the back wrote "Hauck+Chapple" but the plus sign was slighty
scribbled and messy and so he called them asking for Hauckychapple
hahaha. I've also been trying to drink a lot of water and yesterday at
church I drank a gallon, just at church, plus a bunch of bottles and
glasses throughout the day. We went on exchanges with the Spanish
missionaries again this week so I was with Elder Cepeda and he is so
funny. We were on a doorstep and he was trying to explain what we do in
English and after talking and then realizing he didn't know how to say
it he said "Oh forget it" to this lady at the doorstep so I had to
explain what we do.<br />
<br />
Yesterday we taught Josh about Tithing! He is
preparing to be baptized on <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_84232454"><span class="aQJ">March 26</span></span>.
He is coming a long way! He is married to a member and it will be a
huge step in his life! We also went to Buffalo Wild Wings this week for
dinner, not to watch basketball or anything ;) We had 3 investigators at
church this week, Josh, Ose, and Sheila. Ose is someone I found
tracting when I was on exchanges, she is from Nigeria! Sheila is still
working on quitting smoking and is planning on being completely done on
March 19 :) She really wants to be a member! I love you guys so much! -

<span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1910498600" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">On Monday</span></span>
we had a Multi Zone Conference at the church building in Greenwood, it
was a lot of fun! We do one every transfer. After P-day was over I let
Elder Chapple drive.. uh oh that was a bad idea. So we have these black
boxes on our cars that monitor our speeds and it makes sure we don't
drive aggressive and go to fast, so we're on the freeway and Elder
Chapple is speeding, and it's me, Elder Richards and Elder Hauck in the
car and I was wondering how he was going so fast until I look over and
the black box is unplugged hahaha! That night me and Elder Richards
we're on an exchanges and we went over to this Liberian members house
and they made us Liberian food, something called Palm butter and it's
White Rice with a stew type thing on top and the meat is Finch (yes the
bird) it was pretty good though! </div>
<div dir="ltr">
</div>
<div dir="ltr">
This week was very productive. Last we
checked Sheila had not smoked for 36 hours, making progress! We had
interviews this week with President Carlson and I asked if I could do
language study and study Yoruba and he said "Of course, anything to
further the work!" so now I get to do 30 minutes of language study a
day.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
</div>
<div dir="ltr">
This week I was with Elder Cox a spanish missionary on the East
Side of Indy and we had a good exchange :) We went to the Buffalo Wild
Wings in Downtown and then had a lesson with Mario who is getting
baptized on <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1910498601" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">March 25</span></span>,
he speaks No english so I would say something or teach him something
and Elder Cox would translate for me. We also taught him how he would be
baptized and I role played it with him. The next morning we ran 40 yard
dashes for a workout and went on a jog. They live in a pretty cool area
of Indianapolis, it's in a little suburb called Irvington. During our
exchange Elder Cox wanted me to pick a less active member to go by on
the Ward Directory, since I wouldn't know the person and it would be a
prompting from the spirit on who we decided to go by. So we picked one
and went by, and he didn't have time/didn't want to talk to us. So
instead we started knocking the apartments and had a miracle! We knocked
on the door, he answered, we introduced ourselves and asked him his
name, and he said "It depends on who's asking?" haha the funny thing is,
a lot of the Spanish people think that we're Immigration when we knock
on the door and we're in White shirts and ties haha but it turned out to
be a great discussion with this guy. We talked about living righteously
and he brought up living in the world and not of the world and we told
him that's exactly what we believe and we taught him all about the Book
of Mormon and about Lehi and his family and he was excited about it and
wanted to come to church! We knew that was the reason we went to this
less active, not for the less active but it led us to this guy. The guy
told us he was about to leave <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1910498602" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">in 2 minutes</span></span>
to go look for a job, and we showed up. </div>
<div dir="ltr">
</div>
<div dir="ltr">
After that we went over to
Marc's house, he just got baptized a few weeks ago, he's 16, we taught
him a lesson on making the right decision and showed him the Mormon
message "Staying within the lines". After that we went over to the
Bello's for a birthday party and dinner for their little girl, we got
unlimited AUTHENTIC Mexican tacos! Me and Elder Cox couldn't eat
anymore! Crazy connection too, so Hermano Bello is a convert to the
church and has been for 9 years, 2 and a half years ago he was living in
New Jersey, I asked him if he knew and Elder Hoyt and he did, it was
crazy, he pulled up pictures of Kurt Hoyt and said "Yeah I love this
kid" Kurt Hoyt would go over to his house in New Jersey when he lived
there!</div>
<div dir="ltr">

<div>
<span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1910498603" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">Saturday</span></span>
morning we helped this member move. While we were there moving, Elder
Chapple and Hauck were trying to find the house we were at. They called
us a bunch and said "Where are you guys at? We're here." But we kept
telling them they were at the wrong house. After like 3 phone calls they
still couldn't figure out they were at the wrong house and then we
receive this text from Elder Chapple "The awkward moment when you walk
into a strangers house and yell Where the heck are you queers?" hahahah.
Last night we taught Josh the Word of Wisdom and he is still on date to
be baptized for <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1910498604" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">March 26</span></span>!
We also found this part of an apartment complex where they're all
Nigerian, we will be going back :) I love those people! I love you guys

we beat that by A LOT! We had 123 :) A new investigator is someone you
meet, you teach them a point of doctrine an set up a time and day to
come back and they say yes. Good things are happening :) The highlight
of my week was probably the exchange to Downtown Indy when I got to
visit the Etta's. Everyone always talks about how you have to love the
people when you're on your mission and I love Nigerians. I love talking
to them, asking about their country and learning what they eat. I am
going to ask President Carlson this week in Interviews if I can start
doing language study for 30 minutes a day to learn Yoruba (African
Dialect they speak in Nigeria). I already know a little bit and they
love it when we speak it to them.<br />
<br />
This week we were in a lesson and I
used a cool analogy that came to my mind with a guy named Olukayode. He
was trying to understand what the Book of Mormon was and why we need it.
I told him it's like this "If you go outside and look at the moon right
now and draw a picture of it, and then fly to Nigeria and draw a
picture of the moon there, it's going to look different, but it's the
same moon. The Book of Mormon is a witness from a different nation about
Jesus Christ, the same Jesus Christ in Jerusalem". And that made a lot
of sense to him. We had 3 investigators come to church! Vesnel, Josh,
and Sheila. Now we need to get the Nigerians coming :) The goal is to
have a Nigerian branch here :) This week we put Josh on baptismal date
for <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1378153634" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">March 26</span></span>!
His wife is is a member, and they just got married. This week we were
on exchanges and so I was with different missionaries all week but it
was fun! Haha Nigerians are so shocked when I start saying words in
Yoruba.<br />
<br />
Another miracle happened this week, so after church we went on a
quick exchange, Me and Elder Chapple went together to go visit Tony (a
guy he taught in this area almost 2 years ago when he was here) we go
knock on the door and Tony answers and tells us he just had surgery and
it seemed like he wasn't going to let us in his house. But then it was
almost like God whispered to him "Let them in, you need to talk to them"
because out of nowhere he told us to come inside and told us to sit
down. After talking for a bit he told us it was ironic we came to his
house, because of things that happened in his life. He had been on Elder
Chapple's mind so it made this even a cooler experience. So pretty much
we found out that his family is Catholic, Jehovah Witness, Baptist and
his brother just joined the Mormon church. Pretty much what he told us
was that he was on the phone with his brother and his brother was
sharing a little bit about our church and it wasn't all making sense to
Tony. His brother told him not to worry because missionaries would come
around sometime and teach him, but he would have to actually study what
we teach, pray, and actually sit down and talk to us, instead of just
accepting a Bible and Book of Mormon and having us leave. And then we
knocked on his door. In his words he said it was kind of creepy. He told
us his mom who is Jehovah Witness said that if she was not Jehovah
Witness, she would be Mormon which was kind of a shock. Tony told us
he's Christian, and said if he claimed a church, it would be the Mormon
church and he's not even a member, now we have to get him baptized. He
talked about how he saw our missionaries in dangerous places, and he
just saw us everywhere and thought we had an unreal amount of faith
because we don't carry weapons or anything we just know that we're
protected.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Sheila still has us over all the time and
she's still trying to quit smoking. The Bishop gave her advice.. So
while she was trying to quit smoking she was trying to quit drinking Dr.
Pepper (Since she was addicted to it as well) and she quit the Dr.
Pepper. Bishop Stephens said drink the Dr. Pepper and quit smoking,
that's the important thing, so pretty much use the Dr. Pepper to help
quit smoking, so she can get baptized and once she's baptized, then quit
Dr. Pepper. Also, in the past she had been making it known to everyone
in the ward that she was quitting smoking to try and help her, but
instead it caused stress because she thought that if she failed everyone
would think she's a failure and it caused stress which made her want a
cigarette and now she's doing it pretty much in secret. I thought that
was interesting. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I was with Elder Dunyon this
week and he's brand new missionary, I always take the brand new
missionaries to the most scary, dangerous apartment complex :) Hahaha. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I love you guys and miss you :)</div>

we went at 8 in the morning and did all of our grocery shopping and
went to this International Market that I love to go to. One of the times
we were there this week I met an African guy from Nigeria who I got to
speak Yoruba too, people are so shocked when I say something in Yoruba
to them. For lunch we went to Moe's (it's a southwestern grille that
sells burritos) and we went to the park that "The fault in our stars"
was filmed at. That night we planned for the transfer, made some POG
which is a mixture of Passionfruit, Orange juice and Guava and we made a
smoothie out of it. We had a LU'AU in our apartment and ate some
cocunut chips, Lihingmui and Pog. It was a good night!!<br />
<br />
Tuesday morning
we helped Elders Chapple and Mason get to transfers and helped them get
luggage there. This week we finally had time to get out and knock on
doors and it was sooo much fun. This Catholic guy we were talking to
told us the reasoning behind doing the cross after they pray and I said
"Normally I do that in the morning but I usually say "My hair is done,
my tie is on, I have my nametag and I have my planner". We took Elder
Chapple to the hospital in Greenwood for some more testing and went to
this surprisingly good Chinese restaraunt that Elder Chapple wanted to
take us to. We went to the intersection named "10th and Drive-by" on the
East side of Indianapolis and right as we pull up, 3 cop cars come
speeding around the corner with their lights on haha.<br />
<br />
On Thursday we
went to another Chinese buffet with the High Priest group which was a
lot of fun. I gave a baptismal interview to De-Shawn (the guy I taught
in the other Eagle Creek area) and he will have to wait another week to
get baptized so he can quit smoking. Elder Chapple and Mason took his
cigars and fried chicken for him the other week but he went and bought
more Cigarettes :) On Friday we went to the Fishburn complex and did
service :) I got to see Brad Quick, I mean Elder Brad Quick and we hung
out while we did service. It was kind of funny the guy gave me and him
the golfcart to drive around and pick up garbage cans while everyone
else is walking around all the baseball fields picking up trash, it was a
goooood time :)<br />
<br />
I was with a brand new missionary this week on
exchanges! While we were on exchanges we helped move a Mattress for some
people. Brother Merrill picked us up and we went and got it from Costco
and dropped it off at Sister Wu's house she's living in. She's from
China and the 2 people she lives with are not members. Right when we
knocked on the door they invited us inside to eat, they made us Fried
rice, I actually don't know how she made it so fast, first I see white
rice, she goes in the garage and <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1378153609" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">5 minutes later</span></span>
it's this hot sizzling fried rice on my plate. They gave us hot chinese
chili and chinese cabbage :) She told us she gets bored of cooking for
just herself and husband and so she wants us to come over, we made a
deal that we'd help her with yard work or something like that and she
can feed us :) The cool thing was, the next day we went to a Fireside at
our church building and Sister Wu spoke at it and the Chinese lady sent
her with some Sushi to give just to me! So delicious :) I hope
everything is going good in the 801 and I love and miss you guys!<br />

Right now I'm drinking
Quinoa JUICE and Flax seed juice, I didn't even know that was a thing
until I went to the Saraga International Market today :) This week was
full of eating Saltines (food poisoning) and meetings. We got a little
bit of finding/tracting in and realized that what I thought were
fireworks outside at 9 o clock at night are actually gun shots haha. We
went and helped out at the Bishop's Storehouse <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1373817342" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">on Tuesday</span></span>
morning, we're going to make that a regular thing because we live a
mile away from it. We also played basketball with the young men.<br />
<br />
We've
been visiting less active members and helping them come back to church.
Sheila is still doing well, she is still working on giving up smoking.
She gave up Dr. Pepper! She knows for sure that the Church is absolutely
true but she can't be baptized until she has quit for at least a week.
It was frustrating, yesterday in Ward Council they were questioning us
and they thought we committed her to give up Dr. Pepper before smoking,
and we never even told her she needed to give up Dr. Pepper, she felt
like she was addicted and thought it up on her own, and we told the Ward
council that and they said "Well why was the commitment extended?" and
we just thought to ourselves "We didn't extend any commitment about
that" I just kind of sat back and laughed while everyone discussed it.
But Sheila has us over for dinner a lot, and we visit her a lot :)<br />
<br />
We
had a Zone Conference <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1373817343" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">on Thursday</span></span>,
from 10-4 and after me and Elder Heimuli went and visited Brother
Tupuola! They drive a pretty sweet truck :) (Elder Heimuli and the
Assistant to the President) The Zone Conference focused on "Teaching
Repentance" to help people realize the change of their ways to align
with Heavenly Father's will and we are trying to make sure that when we
baptize people we are "baptizing converts" and to make sure they stay
active and come to church every week and continually change and repent.
President Carlson also emphasized "This is the Savior's message, not
ours. And we need to make sure people know that" I love President
Carlson he is such a good guy. We went to 2 baptisms <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1373817344" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">on Saturday</span></span>,
both hispanic people the Spanish Elders baptized, 1 was 11, the other
was 9. We did a baptismal interview this week for 1 of them, so we got
to meet her a couple days before she was baptized :) We drove to the
East Side of Indianapolis to their house.<br />
<br />
The "Why I Believe" Fireside
was a huge success! (Trevor) 1 of the converts that bore his testimony,
was scrolling through TV and he saw the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, he
loves music and he watched them sing, he wondered why no one applauded
at the end of the song, and then Elder Holland got up and gave the talk
"Safety for the Soul". Trevor had no idea what the Book of Mormon was,
but when he heard that talk he knew it was true. That was in 2009 and
Trevor wasn't baptized for 7 years until just recently. Missionaries
worked and worked with him, he joked and said that when he got baptized
he would hear a sigh from the Salt Lake City Valley from all the
missionaries that worked with him. Trevor then sang "I'll go where you
want me to go". Another lady bore her conversion story, she was not a
member, but her 3 sons were, 1 of her sons just got back from his
mission in Honduras and he baptized her a few weeks ago. There is
opposition, but with opposition comes great things :) I love you guys
and I'm ready for another week and I will report back on what happened
:)<br />

So from Monday to Wednesday I
was with Elder Ebeling on the East Side of Indianapolis, sooo much fun.
We went to the Rio Grande Supermarket to get some authentic tacos and
talk to people there, Elder Ebeling would translate for me to the
Spanish people. 1 of the guys was trying to get me to buy a lot of food
by saying stuff in Spanish and trying to get me to agree. So the East
Side is really dangerous, and we went to this apartment complex named
Spanish Oaks which is supposedly pretty dangerous, they try not to go
there in the evening hours, but that's when we were there :) At the
supermarket though we ate tacos and drank Horchata and talked to the
spanish people around us about the gospel, on the way out we were
walking out and I said Hey to this guy that was ordering some donuts and
after talking to him for a while we found out he really needed help in
his life, and he'd talked to missionaries 2-3 years ago and wanted to
talk to them again. The cool thing about this happening is a lady we
talked to an hour before told us if we wanted good pupusa's (Spanish
food) then we should go to this Pupuseria and we looked for it and then
decided to go to a different one and God led us to talk to these people
:)<br />
<br />
hahaha also this was hilarious, so earlier in the day we were at the
downtown library and there was this minister from another church sitting
across from us, and people kept walking up to him and they'd see all of
us, 1 lady came up to me and Elder Abhau and all the other missionaries
and asked us why we looked so happy and then went on to tell us we're a
cult and then when 6 of us were getting on the elevator a guy was
getting off and said "Wow the devil's already arrived" hahaha! Anyways
that night I didn't bring any of my sleeping stuff, no pillow no blanket
and I was FREEZING! I was expecting Elder Cox to leave his bedding and
so I left mine and I froze, oh well it's mission life :) The next day me
and Elder Ebeling went to the Lavenderia (Laundromat) and did their
laundry and talked to every hispanic person there (A LOT) and while we
were there we ran into a Less active member in their Spanish branch that
he had no idea about! After a couple hours there we were driving down
the road and he says "We're going to go knock that door" and it was
because they had a sign to be a hispanic house (2 dish network, 1 for
the spanish channel) and he followed the spirit and he went. We knock on
the door and a black lady answers with her baby and we were both kind
of surprised but we started talking to her and her boyfriend comes up
who is hispanic and Elder Ebeling says "Ola Hermano" haha and they let
us inside and there is 7 people living there and they want us to come
back! After that we then started knocking doors, looking for spanish
people, he's so funny he runs to spanish people when he sees them. We
saw one walk in a house with a red door, so we walk to that house and no
one answered, so we go to another house that looked hispanic, they
weren't but they said their neighbors were so we went to their house and
they were happy to have us come back again and told us to go knock on
their neighbors door (the red door) and they answered the 2nd time!
After talking to these people we drove to Flores, Flores is someone they
found a couple weeks ago, Elder Ebeling and Elder Cepeda were driving
and Ebeling said "Alright keep an eye out for a house you think we
should knock" and later at the same time they both point to a house and
say "THAT ONE!" and she came to church that week and is now learning :)<br />
<br />
We then went to a members house and had the best mexican food I've ever
had!! Such a fun dinner, they didn't have a sink so we washed our hands
in a bucket with a hose :) We then had a way way good lesson with Mario
and Juan, Mario will get baptized soon :) Alright more fun stuff, so
Friday morning at 4 in the morning the White River Elders call us and
their house was flooding! Their upstairs neighbors pipe broke, and so
they've been living with us for the weekend. Another flooding happened
at the baptism, the font overflowed haha it was bad they had to grab
buckets and scoop water out into the toilet. And it happened right after
one of the guys in the bishopric told us it had happened before and
none of us believed him. It's been a way fun week, now today the plan is
to drink gatorade all day and watch everyone play basketball :)
Something I learned this week, "More importantly then receiving an
answer to prayer, is recognizing the answer and thanking Heavenly Father
for it". I love you guys and miss you! - Elder Jared Clark<br />

It was a great week.<br />
<br />
<span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1992406480" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">Monday</span></span> we played basketball all day until <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1992406481" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">5 pm</span></span>,
and then me and Elder Butler went on an exchange. He is just about as
good as the Piano Guys, at playing the piano. He is in the Mooresville
ward, and I went with him to his area. Crazy miracle that was told to us
by a member (the mom) there when we were at a dinner. She was in 4th
grade living in Florida and met a girl her age who was Jehovah Witness.
They talked about our church and Jehovah Witness and they were really
good friends. 28 years go by and the Jehovah Witness lady is now talking
to Sister Missionaries from our church, 1 of the Sisters had to go home
from her mission because she hurt her ankle, while at home she was
talking to someone who knew the member telling me the story and the
person happened to be good friends and had the current phone number and
address of her, she called her and told her, and made the reconnection
between her and the Jehovah Witness lady, they talked and the JW is
getting baptized in our church, when she started reading the Book of
Mormon her husband divorced but she knows it's true and wants her to
come to the baptism! I thought that was sweet.<br />
<br />
<div>
</div>
<div>
I also went on an
exchange with Davis Johnson from Wx! I went with him to his area in
Avon, we had a lot of fun! While on the exchange Elder Abhau and Elder
Ferreira found a bed bug in our room! We spent all day cleaning,
spraying alcohol, throwing our clothes in the dryer and setting off bed
bug bombs in our apartment. I ate FUFU this week, it's an African dish
that is Fish, and potato type stuff in a spicy soup. It was really good!
I gave my first Baptismal Interview this week, it was to one of the
Spanish Missionaries investigators, he was a 16 year old kid, it was a
lot of fun! He lived on the East Side of Indianapolis, and so after we
went and Elder Abhau had me meet the famous Brother Lane from the
Crossroads Ward, he has baptized hundreds and hundreds of people in the
ward that's on the East Side (I'll send you a picture of him). He fed us
what we call "Black People Food" which was Potato Skins, Catfish, Pork
And beans and Ice Cream :)<br />
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
This week President Carlson came to a lesson
with me and Elder Abhau to our investigator Vesnel, it was SWEET! He
wants to get baptized! This week we had a Worldwide Missionary
Broadcast that changed a lot of things as a missionary and I like it! We
can now go to bed at <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1992406482" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">9:30</span></span>
so we get more rest, I guess the church did a bunch of research and
found out missionaries weren't getting enough rest, we don't have to
plan at night, we plan in the morning, and we can now leave the
apartment at <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1992406483" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">8 am</span></span>
on P-days! We also don't keep track of the normal numbers we used to
keep track of, only people that were baptized and confirmed,
investigators that are on baptismal date, investigators at sacrament
meeting, and New Investigators. I like it, it's cuts all the fluff and
just has us report the very important things and pushes us to do what's
most important, get them to church and baptized :) we went to 2 baptisms
<span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1992406484" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">on Saturday</span></span>! Very good things happening :)</div>

the one from Haiti, he will probably get baptized soon. We taught him
about the Plan of Salvation this week, he was in aw over it, he loved it
and he made the connection that the reason we know all about the Plan
of Salvation is because of the Restoration. His friend also wants to
come to church! "Teach when you find, find when you teach"<br />
<br />
<div>
So this
week we're out walking around, and somehow the conversation came up and
Elder Abhau's like "You know it's the dirt that gives you Tetnis, not
the Rust? Usually rust is associated with it because when something's
rusty or in the ground, it usually has dirt on it?" I said "So it's not
really that bad to cut yourself with rust?" Elder Abhau responds "Well
I'm sure it's not a good thing to cut yourself with rust" Hahaha it
sounded good in my head, but when I said it, it just wasn't the same. <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1569138376" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">Monday</span></span>
after a good long day of playing basketball, and getting some burritos
at Moe's, we changed into our Proselyting clothes and went out
contacting referrals with Elder Kretschmer and Elder Caldon (The White
River Missionaries) and then we went to a Single Adult Family Home
Evening that the 60+ women in their ward have. After that we spent the
night with them in their apartment. <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1569138377" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">Tuesday</span></span>
me and Elder Caldon we're with each other all day, such a good day.
Elder Caldon is one of my favorite people out here! We went to this
mexican restaraunt, taught Vesnel about the Restoration and Book of
Mormon, and made sure he understood that, and visited Sam Ferguson (he's
been a member for 2 years) and his wife just got baptized. </div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
Alright now
here's a good story, time for story time, and I forgot to tell you about
it last week. So 2 <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1569138378" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">Monday's</span></span>
ago me and Elder Abhau were walking to Buffalo Wild Wings in downtown
Indy and there are always Jehovah Witness missionaries that stand on the
corner with there stands and books and stuff to give out, so we're
about to cross the street and then I told Elder Abhau I was going to
have some fun :) So I walk up to them and act like I speak no english,
Only Yoruba, and I start pointing at my nametag. The one guy, tells the
other 2 missionaries that he's got this one, and he asks me if I speak
English, I tell him no and say Bawoni, Da da ni, (The only Yoruba I
know) to him and I say it like someone from there would, he tells me to
flip through this folder to look for the language, I nod my head and say
no, and he says "Okay, can you spell it for me?" So I spell it for him,
and he looks it up on his phone, but his phone was being slow and I
acted like I was in a hurry so I start walking away and said "I COME
BACK?" and he's like "Okay okay ya come back!!" but I did not come
back.. anyways a week goes by and I'm in different clothes, in the
middle of downtown Indy, walking to Buffalo Wild Wings with Elder
Caldon, at night, and 1 of them spots me! Hahaha they ran up and stopped
me and told me they found the language, except then I started speaking
fluent English to them, and Elder Caldon is wearing his nametag in
English that says "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints"
hahaha. It was hilarious. </div>

we went to Buffalo Wild Wings for Elder Burnett's birthday. We parked
in the mall parking, the only problem was me and Elder Caldon parked in a
different parking lot then Elder Abhau and Elder Kretschmer and Elder
Abhau had to get all of his blankets and stuff he packed for from that
car to our car, so here you see 2 Mormon Missionaries in nice clothes,
but carrying there stuff through downtown, we looked homeless and we
knew it hahaha so funny. <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1569138380" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ"> </span></span></div>

we had to get our car oil changed, it's easy to be a missionary and do
that because the Church is so organized that we just take it in, all the
information is in the computer and they just pull it up and fix the car
haha. Sheila (the investigator who is trying to quit smoking before she
gets baptized) had us over for dinner that night, it was kind of a late

was kind of a funny day, so.... we went to a rougher part of our area,
mostly because I wanted to go there so I told Elder Abhau we should, and
earlier in the day we found out from Brother Enos that in Hawaii they
call Marijuana "Paccololo" so me and Elder Abhau call it that whenever
we smell it, it's a good code word because other people don't know what
we're talking about haha so we decided we're going to go to a place
where he smelt a lot of "Paccololo" because that's usually where the
more fun things happen. So we go there and sure enough we have a fun
experience, we knock on this door, this lady opens up and says "Come
inside Come Inside!!" I asked if a man was in the house and slowly
walked in, Elder Abhau was hesitant, let's put it this way, most of the
people in there were drunk, 1 had Alzheimers, 1 told us she got out of
prison a year ago, but still, they recognized we were sent from God to
knock on their door, they were all arguing and they were so excited to
have us come in. 1 of the people there, she could not read well, and we
told her she didn't have to be able to read, to be able to pray to
Heavenly Father for help. After talking to her for a minute she told us
to come meet her mom and dad. She walked us back to their room, me and
Elder Abhau are both hesitant to walk in, but the lady tells us to, we
walk in and the Mom says "What are you doing in my room?!!!!?" I thought
to myself "I'm wondering the same thing" then she yelled to her
daughter (Who was about 35) why'd you bring them in here?" After a lot
of yelling, they calm down enough and realize God may have sent us
there, we said a prayer with them and got out of there :) </div>

<span style="font-size: small;"><img alt="☺" class="CToWUd" data-goomoji="263a" src="https://mail.google.com/mail/e/263a" style="margin: 0px 0.2ex; max-height: 24px; vertical-align: middle;" /> Hey! This might be the funnest weekly e-mail to read. This week Elder Abhau got sick <img alt="🤒" class="CToWUd" data-goomoji="1f912" src="https://mail.google.com/mail/e/1f912" style="margin: 0px 0.2ex; max-height: 24px; vertical-align: middle;" /><img alt="😷" class="CToWUd" data-goomoji="1f637" src="https://mail.google.com/mail/e/1f637" style="margin: 0px 0.2ex; max-height: 24px; vertical-align: middle;" /><img alt="🤕" class="CToWUd" data-goomoji="1f915" src="https://mail.google.com/mail/e/1f915" style="margin: 0px 0.2ex; max-height: 24px; vertical-align: middle;" /> and
he planned to sit out of basketball last monday but ended up playing
and he got even more sick, but we decided to go to Buffalo Wild Wings :)
And it just so happened to be the pre-game of the Clemson - Alabama
game, we didn't plan that out or anything :) But it was my favorite
Buffalo Wild Wings I've been to, right in the heart of Downtown. The
joke in the mission is we say we're going to Brother Dubs because he
always had good food and a good game on. After eating we went straight
home because Elder Abhau was really sick. The next day was a sick day
for him, we rested all day. We did as much as we could, calling
referrals, weekly planning, sending out texts, listening to talks and
stuff like that, oh and also Elder Abhau loves to cook so when we don't
have dinner's we still end up having a good meal :) </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: small;">So we received a
call this week from the mission office and they were telling us about a
guy that wanted to talk to us, he wanted some spiritual guidance in his
life. They were hesitant about us going because they didn't want him to
just try and get money from our church, because he had just lost his
job, and broke up with a girlfriend and stuff but they told us to go
anyway and if he needed anything temporally then we'd let the senior
missionaries help him. But we met him at McDonalds, he's the nicest guy
and we talked to him for about an hour. He is from Haiti, I asked him,
"Why did you think to call our church?" and he said "Because you're
popular" Haha we met with him twice this week and he came to church <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1521424483" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">on Sunday</span></span>.
We are going to meet with him today and put him on a date to be
baptized. I love the people from Africa, this week Coralie, the person I
was teaching in the other Eagle Creek area gave us so much African food
:) What it was was rice cupcakes and you dip it in a tomato-pepper
sauce, it's pretty good! </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: small;">Now on to the best part of the week, so it's
about 8 at night, and me and Elder Abhau decided we were going to go try
and drop off a bible at this referrals house that asked for one. So we
knock on the door and this is what happened.....We
walk up to the door. It smells like illicit drugs. When we knock,
someone goes to answer it, and another person screams, "Don't you touch
that (bad word) door!" Then, "Who is it?" "Church people!" we respond.
"Who?" "Church people!" Elder Clark bellows, a little louder. We
hear someone lumber up towards the door, and she says, "You best speak
up playa. I can't undastand what you be sayin." We see her eye flash
across the peephole. She yells to the people behind her, in the house,
"We got two badges here." I get a little worried, because if they think
we're cops, we might be in for some trouble. Elder Clark, not quite
catching on, says, "Yeah! We got badges. Wanna see 'em?" He gestures
towards his nametag. I quickly, motivated primarily by my non-desire to
be shot, clarify, "Jesus-Badges! They're just Jesus-Badges!" I brace
myself. At this point, the door
swings open, the lady glances at us, yells a little more, snatches the
Bible out of my hands, and slams the door. We
didn't try to get a return appointment. </span><br />
<div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: small;">This week was full of fun
experiences and good food. Elder Abhau made me a Steak dinner, he makes
mashed potatoes with it and it's so good :) We also had some authentic
mexican food, it was Delicioso! We had something called a Pambazo, and
Quesadillas packed full of meat and cheese! Brother Cheek gave me a
haircut, he has a nice little shop we go to in Carmel. A lot of Colts
player go to a stylist that works right across the hall from him. Also,
this coming week me and Elder Abhau are going to try and knock in this
neighborhood where supposedly a lot of Colts and Pacers players live!
Should be fun :) We met with Sheila a couple times this week, the only
thing she has to do is give up smoking and she can be baptized! This
week we went on exchanges and I went to Avon with Elder Hauck! Elder
Hauck went to Davis, and his family lives in Kaysville! It was a lot of
fun, Avon is a hard hard place to do missionary because a lot of people
there are set in their ways, not willing to talk, and don't like
missionaries or people walking around knocking on their door" This week I
thought to myself.... When we go up and talk to someone, we should just
say to them "Do you think that Jesus Christ would ever put his church
back on the earth, with a Prophet, 12 Apostles, and even 70 Disciples?
Well pray about this, and ask if it's true, because his church is on the
earth." and then just walk away. Hahah I'm going to try it! I think
it'd work, it would kind of shock people and as soon as we walk away
they're going to be wondering why we aren't telling them more. And maybe
even leave them with an Ensign with the pictures of all the General
Authorities. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: small;">It was a fun day with Elder Hauck, we were out in this
pretty small town called Danville and we parked and got out to go talk
to some potential investigators and instead we walked into this small
little laundromat and there was one lady in there, right as we're
walking out of the door, I felt inspired to start a conversation with
her and we talked to her for about 15 minutes and left her with a Plan
of Salvation Pamphlet and set a time to come back and talk to her. A
HUGE MIRACLE THIS WEEK! So we were at the library and I decided I was
going to go through the missionary portal we had and text all of the
people over the last 3 years that had never been contacted, to try and
get in contact with them. One lady texted us back and wanted us to come
by! Me and Elder Abhau we're pretty excited to go drop off this bible
and hopefully teach her about the Book of Mormon, we then checked and
realized she lived in another Elder's area so we sent it to them. But
the problem was we already had an appointment set with her that would
work for us, and we just had to hope it'd work for Elder Howlett and
Elder Fonohema, but this is what happened. They had actually planned to
be in that area knocking doors so they said yes we can go! They went to
her house and long story short, her and all of her kids want to come to
church and be baptized :) They've been to her house twice, when they
taught her about the Restoration, they asked her if she thought it was
true and she said "Oh yeah, I know that this is true" and when they got
to her house they asked if anyone in her house wanted to listen and she
called all her kids down to listen :) I am so glad I went through those
referrals :) </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: small;">I know that Jesus Christ is the leader of this work and I'm
glad I can be a part of it. We are going to start knocking on all the
apartment complexes in our area, that's where the African people live
and I can then speak the little Yoruba I know to them and they can see
the nametag I have. I asked President Carlson if there was a prophecy
about the gathering of the African people before the Second coming and
he said he didn't know if that was a prophecy but he said "You look at
what's happening, the Lord will either send the church to them, or bring
them here" </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: small;">I love you guys so much can't wait to e-mail you more next
week! </span><br />

slept without them. It was the best to come in from a cold long day and
grad a hot pack for the rest of the night. As a Zone Leader you have a
lot of added things you have to do, you have to decide how many miles
each companionship needs and what places need full time cars, or whether
they'll share. You have to check up on the missionaries in your zone
and make sure they're doing good, answer their questions and get them
their packages and supplies. We went out this week and just offered to
shovel people's driveways, no one would let us! You'd be surprised,
people just tell us no haha. We do something called a "Jesus Walk" and
we just bundle up and start walking around and try and find people to
teach. We walk down Georgetown Road and stop at all the bus stops and
find people to talk to. That way they can't run away from you, they have
to wait for their bus ;) haha we found 1 person doing that, and met him
there the next day and taught him some more. His name is Charles. It
turns out he lives in downtown so we gave him as a referral to the
missionaries that cover there. This week we had a lesson with Sheila,
we're helping her overcome smoking. She was going to have us over for
dinner on my birthday but she got pretty sick and was in a lot of pain
so we're going there for dinner on Wednesday instead! It gets dark
around 7 at night, so it's always good to have lessons set up in the
night so we can visit those people and teach them. That is one thing
I've learned, don't go tracting and knock on doors at <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_692700870" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">8:00 pm</span></span>,
it got the cops called on us, but that was in Martinsville :) On
Wednesday we had a lesson set up that turned out to be a great lesson.
We taught the man and woman about the whole plan of salvation and
answered their questions. We had MLC (Mission Leadership Council) and
that went from 10-4, long meeting, but it was good! And we got lunch
courtesy of Sister Carlson :) That night we had a way cool experience!
So it was about <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_692700871" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">7:30</span></span>
and we stopped by an investigators house, but it looked like no one was
home, all the lights we're off so at first we decided to drive away and
then as we're driving away Elder Abhau decided since we had already
driven to the house, we might as well knock on the door, so we did, and
the people were peeking out the window, we didn't think they we're going
to answer and then they did! They invited us inside and it turns out
they're from Africa and speak Yoruba so I said "Bawoni" to them which
means Hello and I showed them my Yoruba nametag and they were shocked
that I knew about Yoruba, they thought I was from Africa or something
hahaha they let us sit down and we talked about all kinds of things!
What missionaries do, the Book of Mormon, what places missionaries go,
what we believe and they want to come to church! We gave them an English
Book of Mormon, because they speak very good English but we're going to
take them a Yoruba Book of Mormon as well. At MLC President Carlson
told us to not underestimate the power of prayer in finding people that
need to hear our message and the people that are prepared to hear it. <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_692700872" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">On Saturday</span></span>
we spent the day in Downtown with Elder Fonohema and Elder Howlett. It
was a lot of fun, I love going on Exchanges. This week at church their
were 5 investigators at church, and Elder Chapple and Elder Mason were
sick and couldn't even come. People at church joked that Elder Chapple
got sick now since I'm not his companion because I'm not helping him be
clean, they all realized I like to wash my hands.. but I never get sick!
I think it's because I take a lot of vitamins and wash my hands and eat
healthy. Our longest day this week was <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_692700873" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">on Sunday</span></span>, we were in suits all day at meetings, at <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_692700874" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">7:30 am</span></span>
we had ward council, church till 12 and then we got a lunch break but
then headed straight to our meeting with our ward mission leader, and
then in the evening we had a meeting with President Carlson, A high
councilman and someone from the Stake. This is the funniest part of the
week. So at MLC President Carlson asked the 3 new Zone Leaders to
introduce themself, tell where they are from and something interesting
about themself. Elder Quick says "I'm from Bountiful Utah and something
Interesting is I don't have hair". Then it was my turn and I told them
something interesting about me is I helped Elder Quick get hair
vitamins" and President Carlson says "Well it didn't work!" hahaha
President Carlson is such a funny guy. I love you guys so much and thank
you so much for the birthday gifts!!! :)<br />

I almost took him to the
hospital! He woke up in the middle of the night and was stumbling into
things and couldn't walk straight, he actually laid in the back seat of
the car while I drove us to a dinner. He was very out of it. He borrowed
a cane from Brother Merrill, Elder Chapple was not looking good. On
Saturday morning I was with Elder Hurst on an exchange when I got the
call from President Carlson that I'd be going Zone Leader with Elder
Abhau, but I'm still in the Eagle Creek ward. I just moved a few miles
away. Our Zone is the biggest Zone in the mission, we have a lot of
spanish missionaries in it, and we'll be able to go on exchanges with
them. On Saturday, there were 7 baptisms in this zone. I also now have a
laundry machine in my apartment, we have a very nice apartment and
Elder Abhau is very good at keeping it clean, which is a change from
other companions :) Elder Abhau went to Byu for a little bit before his
mission, he's from Rolesville, North Carolina. Also, this week we ate 2
different african meals! They were delicious! One of our investigators
made it for us. We also brought Brother Akingbasote who is a member from
Nigeria, who went on his mission to Nigeria, to a lesson with us and 3
people from Africa were there that we taught. They all came to church!
This week we gave a blessing to Mark because he had chemical burns from
Hydrogen. He will get baptized one day, he just has to overcome some
addictions and live the Word of Wisdom! The investigator me and Elder
Abhau are now teaching, has been taught every lesson, but she just can't
stop smoking. She had us over for dinner last week, all 4 of us, and
she's having me and Elder Abhau over on Saturday for my birthday and
she'll always ask me what I want. We are having Enchiladas and rice
pudding :) She wrote all 4 of us a prayer, and it's pretty much like a
patriarchal blessing, without the priesthood and without a patriarch. I
love you guys! This letter is short, I'll send a lot more pictures next
week :) Me and Elder Abhau are going to tear it up, and I'll tell you
guys all about it! And by tear it up, I mean missionary work.. A lot of
missionaries out here keep tearing there pants because they're gaining
weight.. hahaha Love you guys so much! Amy Hadfieldhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06166778519179405975noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7958396725242875303.post-7805054173907135732016-09-12T12:54:00.002-07:002016-09-12T12:54:48.437-07:00September 12 - LetterSo this week we gave more blessings then I ever have before. We gave 6 <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1259042053" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">in 3 days</span></span>.
A lot of people needed and asked us to give them one, we had neat
experiences and the spirit was strong! We also did not take any breaks
this week, it was crazy! 1 day we left our apartment at 11 and didn't
get home till <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1259042054" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">9:45</span></span> at night. So let's see, <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1259042055" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">On Monday</span></span>
we played some basketball, went around looking at the Bookstores at
Purdue, and we went and spent some time with a member and her son that's
not a member. We've gotten to be pretty good friends with him, he's 15
and he's a wrestle. He's been coming to church and we always sit by him.
His mom Aj, is a convert of 2 years, from the Catholic church. She
actually used to teach anti against our church and now is a strong
member! <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1259042056" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ"> </span></span><br />
<br />
<span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1259042056" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">On Tuesday</span></span>
we mowed Sister Cunninghams lawn, then mowed another members lawn, and
then helped unload a food truck to the Salvation Army. I was talking to
Beaver Myers, he says that me and Elder Woolsey get put to work more
then any other missionaries that he's seen. We always are getting called
and texted to do stuff, which is good! But I wish we got more time to
Proselyte and tract. We got to figure out a way to do both! We usually
help people out a lot and do service in the mornings, because I guess
it's not very effective to tract in the mornings and then the reason we
usually don't get lunch breaks is because we come home and have to
shower and get ready to go visit people or tract and things like that.
So in the middle of helping everyone out, we got a text from Sister
Stearman and she asked if we could give her friend Marie a blessing,
Marie is a non-member that is interested in the church and so we went
over to Marie's, the Roberts and Sister Stearman had just got done at
the Bishops Storehouse and they brought Marie food and things she
needed, we gave her a blessing and her daughter watched and started
crying and she wanted a blessing, I'm sure she felt the spirit :) So we
gave her daughter a blessing and then once we left Marie's we had to
shower and get ready and we drove to Lebanon because the Lebanon Sister
Missionaries asked us if we could give one of there investigators a
blessing. Their investigators name is DeAmber, we showed her a Mormon
Message, it was Sanctify Yourselves and we told her how powerful
blessings can be, and she can be helped in whatever her need may be. She
told us she kept going back and forth between believing it's true and
thinking it's not. Good thing is she now told the Sisters that she knows
it's true :) She is going to be baptized on <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1259042057" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">October 8</span></span>!
Once we finished the blessing we went to this candy shop in downtown
Lebanon and I got some dark chocolate peanuts and almonds :) We then
went to Steve and Marty's house, they are recent converts of a year and
there son was the one that just got baptized. We hadn't been over to
there house yet so we decided we should go visit them! We had a great
visit with them, Steve told us how he read the Doctrine and Covenants
for an hour and a half in the morning and they told us about their
conversion story. So Marty is the wife and she was interested in the
church, and so the missionaries would go over there but Steve did not
want to listen or anything and so Marty told them "If I'm on the porch
then come talk to me" and so they kept knocking on the door like 6 times
they did, and Marty wouldn't be home and Steve was sick, and so Steve
said everytime they'd knock on the door and make him get out of his
chair he'd be mad, and he'd get more and more mad as he'd walk to the
door and then he'd yell at them and tell the missionaries to get off his
porch, but then he started listening in on the lessons and now they are
both endowed and sealed :) It was a great day.<br />
<br />
<span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1259042058" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">On Wednesday</span></span>
we helped out at the TPA park again, we had a day of visiting people,
Beaver Myers gave me a dozen of free eggs, he's a nice guy, we were
trying to visit Mickie Click, and he wasn't at his apartment so we went
to McDonalds because that's usually where he is and while we were there
this guy started talking to us. He was asking us all kinds of questions,
and we answered them and he didn't argue, it was on the verge of
bashing but we kept it right on the middle haha it was hilarious though
he's like "Do you have your bible on you?" and I'm like "No I don"t" and
he's like "Oh really, I have my bible with me wherever I go" and I'm
like "Oh I guess you're better then me" hahaha. That night we had dinner
at the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) and we went with Sister Stearman
and she brought her friend Marie, it was an all you can eat Catfish
dinner, it was pretty good! <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1259042059" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ"> </span></span><br />
<br />
<span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1259042059" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">On Thursday</span></span>
we went with Gene, the man from the Salvation Army, they texted us and
asked us if we could help pick up a washer and dryer for them and move
it, so we helped with that, and the guy that we picked it up from was
Catholic but he had been to Park City and Temple Square and he was a
nice guy and said "I wish other churches sent out missionaries like you
guys do, and have them do what you do" but they can't, they aren't the
true church. But he told us thanks for all we do. We also helped out at
the Library. Sister Hazelton us and asked us if we could visit her and
take out her trash, so we did that and she gave us Apple pie, there is
no turning down her for sugar haha so I eat it :) she said there was
Coriander in it, a healthy spice. That night we had dinner at the
Roberts, and we invited the Colby's over for dinner with them. Angela
Colby is a member, but her husband isn't and we had a great dinner with
them, they both had a lot of questions about baptisms for the dead, we
ended up being there from 5-8! <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1259042060" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ"> </span></span><br />
<br />
<span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1259042060" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">Friday</span></span> - <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1259042061" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">Friday</span></span>
we had District meeting in Kokomo, the church was being used so we had
our meeting outside! It was pretty fun. When we got back to Frankfort,
Sis. Stearman texted us and asked us if we could come to Rural King,
it's a country store here haha but there was a guy that we met at the
VFW a couple days earlier that wanted to see us and talked to us. So we
went and talked to him and then he asked us if he could take us to get a
sandwich later in the day. Sister Stearman also introduced us to
another guy, and the guy didn't have a car and was buying cat food so we
drove his cat food to his house and he rode his bike home, so we got to
help him out, we then went to John and AJ Roberts and helped them fix a
couple things on their fence, and then Jim Selph the guy that wanted to
take us out for a sandwich called us and we went and spent some time
with him. We then went and helped Allysce Barker and did some service
for her, she wanted us to replace some fabric on her chairs and she
couldn't do it because she broke her hand a while back, so we helped her
and then right after that we went to dinner with the Bracketts. It was a busy day. So <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1259042062" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">on Friday</span></span>
night it was 10 at night and I was taking a shower, and Elder Woolsey
comes banging on the door and said "The Tornado Sirens are going off,
get out of the shower!" so I got and threw on clothes and we ran
downstairs to the lobby, because were on the 3rd floor, no tornadoes
touched down to close to us, but we were up late because of that. And we
kept getting a bunch of texts about tornado warnings.<br />
<br />
And then <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1259042063" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">Saturday</span></span>
it was raining like crazy and Edith at the Salvation Army asked if we
could go help them, so we helped them a bunch, she bought us some Subway
sandwiches and then at 4 we had dinner with AJ. We had grilled chicken
and I grilled the chicken haha! She was busy cooking other stuff, Elder
Woolsey was helping her husband John with Plumbing and so they asked me
too, I'd never grilled chicken before on an actual grill, but they said I
did a good job! It was pretty good chicken :) We ended up helping them
the rest of the day, moving a washer and dryer for them and helping them
with plumbing. <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1259042064" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ"> </span></span><br />
<br />
<span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1259042064" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">Sunday</span></span> we had to wake up at <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1259042065" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">5:30</span></span>,
we got to church at 7 and had our meetings, had a great day at church.
Zeke came to church and we sat by him. After church we had lunch with
the Campbells. I'm going to take pictures with all of them so you know
what they look like! We were so tired when we got home, it was 3 o clock
and we needed a little nap so we took it during our dinner break, I set
an alarm for 4 o clock and, we did not wake up till <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1259042066" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">8:30</span></span>,
hahaha I was kind of mad, but then I realized we had not took 1 break
all week, and we're supposed to take three 1 hour breaks every day, so
it made up for that. We were so exhausted hahaha. I've never been so
busy in my entire mission! I love you guys so much and miss you!<br />

<div>
<div>
<div>
Monday - On Monday we went to the campus of
Purdue and we did a fountain run as a whole zone, they have these huge
fountains, we got soaked, Elder Woolsey climbed on top of this huge
fountain and he got water up it nose, and it made him sick, he gets a
little allergic to chlorine so he woke up not feeling to good the next
day. Except he used to be a swimmer and he's allergic to chlorine so
he's used to it. We went to the institute and played ping pong and
foosball, then we headed back to Frankfort but the Zone leaders said I
could pick up some weights from them so I stopped at their apartment and
got weights :)<br /></div>
Tuesday - Tuesday morning the Zone Leaders
picked us up to go to transfer meeting, although we weren't getting
transferred we both had to go to pick up some things, Elder Woolsey had a
package at the mission office, I had a Temple pin and a doctors appt. I
saw Joe Horvath from Culver! He's the devout catholic guy, but he gave
the missionaries a ride from South Bend to Fishers which is like 3
hours, so I talked to him for a while. He says he's half mormon half
catholic :) I got to talk to Elder Coon again, Elder Quick, a lot of
people, it was a lot of fun. After transfers we went out to eat. I
talked a lot to Elder Redmond, his mom is the one that is best friends
with Alex Sharp from Celtic Woman. They're in the same ward as her in
Ireland. After that we went back to Frankfort, we went over to Sister
Cunninghams and mowed her lawn, she is always feeding us and so we
decided we needed to serve her! We then went to Sister Hazeltons, we
helped her take her trash out and shared a spiritual thought with her.
She calls us weekly and asks us to come over because she likes to talk
to us.<br /></div>
Wednesday - In the morning we helped at the TPA
Park, we mowed their lawn for them, we tracted and we visited McCauley
Gunyon, she is not a member and she wants to be sealed to her family and
we're trying to help her come to church and keep the simple
commitments. She is progressing slowly but surely! We had dinner with
the Cunninghams that night, Elder Woolsey had a stuffy nose so Sis.
Cunningham offered him some nasal spray and he's like "Has it been
used?" and she got mad that he even thought she would offer him used
nasal spray hahah so he uses it and he's like " Clark, does your nasal
spray feel like soda going up your nose?" I'm like no and he said it's
way to strong, but it made his nose clear, and then later that night
we're sitting in the car, he uses it again and I said "That stuff smells
strong" and he's like "I can't even smell it, what does it smell like?"
I said "Cinnamon" and he sprays some on his arm and he says "I can't
smell anything! Describe what it smells like" So I said kinda like
mouthwash" and so he's like "Hold on, I better not have lost my sense of
smell" hahaha so he sprays old spice spray on his arm and couldn't
smell it so he starts freaking out and I thought he was kidding I was
laughing so hard.<br /></div>
Thursday - Thursday morning we drove to
Lebanon and got our haircut, Brother Tupuola cut our hair, he's good at
it! He took us out to lunch after. After that the Salvation Army called
and asked if we could help them with some things, so we went out with
Gene to Rossville (a small town) and picked up a bunch of things from an
antique store that was going out of business, we helped them all day,
and then the library wanted us to help them so we helped out there, and
by the time we got done with all that, it took up most of our day! <br /></div>
Friday
- Friday we had District meeting, we helped unload a huge truck during
the middle of it and after District meeting we went out to lunch. From
there we were on exchanges and me and Elder Lords went to Purdue! We
first went to the Institute because there was an investigator that was
going to meet us there and we were going to give him a Book of Mormon,
but he didn't show, so we went out and tried contacting referrals in a
small town close to Lafayette called Battleground. After that we came
back to Purdue and walked around campus and Personal contacted people,
we met an asian guy, and we taught him about the Book of Mormon, we had a
very good discussion, and he wants to learn more! While we were walking
around campus there is a YSA member that came up and talked to us, so
it turns out she is a student at Purdue but she was in Bountiful for a
year for an internship and she worked with Michelle Hock! She took us
out to a Mexican restaraunt called Fiesta. We got back to the apartment
and <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1259042082" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">within 5 minutes</span></span> I fell asleep, I was so tired! <br /></div>
Saturday - Saturday we woke up at <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1259042083" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">5:30</span></span>
and got ready and headed to Kokomo for a full day of work! The church
does it right, they had so many donuts and milk and chocolate milk, I
didn't eat any of the donuts, just drank a bunch of Chocolate milk! 80
people showed up and after all of that they still had gallons and
gallons of milk and they let us take some home. It was a good day, we
broke up into huge groups and the group me and Elder Lords went with
went to a Less active member in Kokomo. His whole roof was off his
house. We then helped the Methodist Church, the Stake President said "I
need this group of you guys to hop in the back of the truck, we need to
go help the Methodist Church" and I said "They need all the help they
can get" hahaha and then Elder Reece laughed and tried getting me in
trouble by saying the 7th article of faith to me and saying I need to
respect all religions :) Ya that is true haha it was funny.<br />
<br />
Sunday - Sunday was a great day at church. They asked us to come in the
primary, they were giving a lesson on Missionaries so they asked me to
bring a white shirt and we got to be in Primary all day. Hahaha it was
so funny what the kids were saying. I should have wrote it down, I'm
trying to remember it all. After church we did not have a ride home, and
Sister Brackett was the only one able to give us a ride and Sister
Stearman was gonna ride with us too, and we're not supposed to ride with
Sisters and Brother Brackett said "The Ox is in the meyer" and we had
to be at Aj and John Roberts to help them move and so he said "We have
to use the ox in the meyer to get to the other ox in the meyer" hahaha
so we spent all day helping them move from <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1259042084" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">2:30</span></span> to 9. It was a productive great week! I love you so much! We did go to the Columbian Park in Lafayette though which was fun, they
had a zoo there. We also went to Moe's Southwestern Grill which is
really good.<br />
<br />
<div>
Tuesday - Tuesday I studied 3 Nephi 11 because we had
an appointment with a Recent convert and I committed her to read it so
we could talk about it and it ended up going really well. She is
learning a lot and likes to learn. We went to the YMCA and helped them,
we mowed there lawn, they had a sand volleyball court that had grass
that was like 4 feet high growing in it so he asked me if I could mow it
and then he told me we had to use a riding mower and I don't know if
we're necessarily supposed to use those, I asked and some missionaries
say yes, some say no, but It was a spirit of the law kind of thing I
didn't want to tell him no so I did that service for them and then after
that we went to the Salvation Army and helped them with some things
around their building until 4 when we had an appointment with Chrystal
Heath. We talked about 3 Nephi 11 and we had one of the best discussions
we've had with her. She wants her 12 year old Marcos to come to church
with her and he doesn't usually want to but he came this sunday! After
that we went to the Bewleys who are members that live in Lebanon and we
had dinner with them, during dinner we got a call from a lady named
Osires and she wanted to buy us food from a Mexican restaraunt. She's
the one that's a member in Florida and her daughter went on a mission to
Las Vegas and so we went and met her family there and they bought us
Aloe Vera drinks and a huge burrito! </div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
Wednesday - Wednesday we
went to the Tpa park and gave one of their goats a bath, they got it
the day before and it was dirty and they wanted us to clean it so we did
that, we fed some Lemurs, and then Sister Cunningham the member we work
with there bought us lunch! She's very nice. We then went to the
Salvation Army and they asked us to mow their lawn to so we did that and
while Elder Woolsey was mowing it he was going in circles and the
grass wasn't being cut and he couldn't figure out why and I was in the
corner just laughing haha so I showed him how to turn the blade on and
we also helped them organize some things and get some donations. As soon
as we got back and showered we got a call from the Roberts and they
asked us if we could go help them clean out the library and the kitchen
at the Frankfort chapel so they picked us up and we went with them and
we had to take everything from the Frankfort chapel to the Lebanon
Chapel so we were busy doing that all night and so Wednesday turned into
an all service day. I miss tracting and proselyting haha I think it's
fun. Hopefully we get to do that a lot this week. The Roberts bought us
dinner and then they took us back to our apartment. On Wednesday we got
fed every single meal from members, pretty sweet.</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
Thursday -
We took our laundry to Sister Bergendorf and then we went to the Square
in Frankfort and went to go help them set up for the Hot dog Festival.
We went to this Dog park and got all these dog show toys and loaded them
on this truck and then took them to the Square in downtown Frankfort
and helped them set it up, we got a picture taken and me and Elder
Woolsey we're on the front page of the paper, you can barely see us but
I'll send it to you guys. After we helped with that we went and helped
at the Library, they had Elder Woolsey clean some shelves and I went
through the 1929 yearbooks and sorted them to different places. We then
went and helped again at the Salvation Army with stuff around the
building. They treat us very well and the manager is so nice we're going
to try and start teaching her, one of these days we're going to ask
her, some members that volunteer there really want to convert her so
that's the goal :) We had dinner with the Bracketts and a less active
member they brought and fed who is usually alone so that was very good
of them. This visit with Joe Calloway was one of the funniest ones we've
had. He doesn't like when people preach to him, he likes to just talk
to us but we have to find little ways to teach him.</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
Friday -
Friday we had District meeting, I made a goal to pick a Christlike
Attribute and work on one each week. After District meeting we had lunch
and the Lafayette Elders stayed with us until 4 when they went and
helped someone move. We went to dinner with the Barrs who are in Lebanon
and had a great dinner with them. The Kokomo Elders drove to Frankfort
and me and Elder Woolsey met up with them, they wanted to go to the Hot
dog festival so we went to that and Personal contacted people and also
talked to some interesting people, 1 guy was selling Cigar box guitars
and me and Elder Reece took a picture with him, I'll send it to you when
I get it from Elder Reece. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<div>
Saturday - Saturday we woke up and went and helped at the Frankfort
Library. After we got done helping there with chaperoning the movies me
and Elder Reece changed into tracting clothes and tracted. We both like
to tract so we went and we talked to the Methodist Minister for the
Methodist Church and everyone we talked to on this street was Methodist.
We also visited and investigator named Gloria Laverden and we invited
her to church and read a scripture and committed her to read the Book of
Mormon. We then tried to go visit some more people who didn't answer,
we knocked on 3 doors and none of them answered so their was one door
and we knew people were home because we just saw them so Elder Reece is
like "We're going right there" this girl answers the door and she's like
"What?" and Elder Reece says "Can we share a message about Jesus Christ
with you and your mom?" so we walk in and there are cigarette's
everywhere and she was on a ventilator, I really wish she would have
accepted our message and we could help her stop smoking but we taught
her the whole restoration and invited her to pray about it and she said
she wanted to stick with her church. We went to dinner at this authentic
mexican restaraunt which was a lot of fun, and we went to the Hot dog
festival and me and Elder Reece bought some Indiana flags and then Elder
Reece and Elder Baldwin left and went back to Kokomo so me and Elder
Woolsey went and visited the Thurmans. So I send these texts out
everyday that are scriptures from the Book of Mormon and spiritual
thoughts and I send them in a group message to investigators and less
actives and so Cindi Thurman opens the door and she's like "I promise I
haven't been ignoring your texts, my phone is broke" and I told her
"Haha It's okay" and we told her we just wanted to read a scripture with
her, invite her to church, we asked her if she kept her commitment on
reading the Book of Mormon and she hadn't she said she was so busy, but
we uplifted her and she was happy we came. She actually started crying
in front of us which surprised us both. We then went and saw Angela
Colby who is a member but her husband and kids are not, she wants her
husband to be Mormon but said she doesn't think he ever will be, but we
know better :) we had a great spiritual thought with them and encouraged
them to have family home evening and we taught the daughters about
baptism. She gave us green tomatoes so we can make fried green tomatoes
and also zucchini and cucumbers. </div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
Sunday - We had a great day
at church, something very cool. So the 3 speakers in Sacrament were, 1.
Brother Pruitt - He was baptized 4 weeks ago and just got the aaronic
priesthood, he comes from a baptist and Jehovah witness family but the
missionaries found him :) 2. Sister Stearman - she was a member of the
7th day Adventist church and worked for 4 ministers in there church in
Chicago, she was pretty high up but then the Washington Temple was built
and she had all these questions about it and met with the missionaries
and now she's been a member for a while. 3 Brother Bewley - Was a less
active member who had gotten into alcohol and drugs and his life was
going downhill, him and his wife had tried everything to help and then
they said the 1 thing we haven't tried is turning to the Lord so they
prayed and 2 days later missionaries came knocking at their door and at
first Brother Bewley didn't want anything to do with the church, but the
missionaries weren't there for that, they asked him if he would help
with scouting because he was very good at it and Brother Crockett who is
now the Bishop was the Scout Master and had no idea what he was doing,
So Brother Crockett prayed for help, Brother Bewley started doing scouts
which got him coming back to church and now all three are active,
Brother Bewley is the Elders Quorum President and all 3 gave talks
yesterday. In the 2nd hour we had probably 15 people in our Gospel
Principles which is the most I've had on my mission, it was a lot of fun
I like the Lebanon Ward a lot. We then had a combined 5th sunday lesson
and Bishop Crockett gave a great lesson and showed some church videos, 1
of them called "I was a Stranger" it was very good. It was a great
sunday and a great week. I love you guys and miss you so much!!! -Elder
Clark</div>

was a P-day, but we did some missionary work during it which is always
good. We went to our Branch Presidents and spent some time with him, he
showed us around his Woodshop, he has a canon and he makes a lot of neat
stuff. We were with the Kokomo Elders most of the day, but we went with
our Branch President and gave a blessing to an Excommunicated member
that he hadn't talked to for 20 years. She wanted a blessing because she
was going to get surgery and she was very happy we gave her a blessing
and she said she wants to start coming back to church. After that we had
dinner at the Heavilons (Our Branch Presidents) After dinner we went to
the Williamsons who our members and helped them plant flowers and put
together an entertainment center. After that they fed them cake, and me
sugar free chocolate pudding :)</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
Tuesday - In the morning we
went to Sister Stearmans and mowed her lawn for her, and then she took
us to her neighbor who is not a member and we met her and shared a
message from the Book of Mormon with her. Later that day we visted
DeAnna Hazelton, she is a shut in that has Health issues and can't make
it to church so we read scriptures with her and she gives us food :) She
is from Louisiana so she makes that style of food and it's pretty good!</div>

which was good.</div>

was a fun day... So in the morning we volunteered at the Library and
Elder Woolsey helped shift books and I helped put together an exhibit
with a bunch of pictures of a Law Firm group from 1954. After that we
went to the YMCA and did service for them. So they ask us, are you guys
pretty good at painting? I said "I can be for today" and Elder Woolsey
said "Ya I've done it a couple times" So we painted this room for them,
and it looked alright, but they wanted it to look a little neater. They
shouldn't have trusted 19 year olds to know how to paint, hahaha. But we
helped them for 3 or more hours and we we're going to go over it for a
second time and clean it up and make it look nice but we had to leave to
do other stuff, but here's the sweet thing. The guy says to us "I'll
get you a guest pass so you can come in and shootaround and play
basketball" So I was pretty excited and then he said "You can use the
weight room and anywhere around here" So now we have a free gym. We
aren't supposed to go to commercial gyms, but I asked the Ward mission
leader and he said "If it's free it's not commercial!" That night we had
dinner at the WIlliamsons, it was very good and we went and visited Joe
Calloway, I printed off a picture of me and him and took it to him and
that made him happy. His granddaughter said he really looks forward to
us coming over, so I'm glad we can, now we just have to get him to
church.</div>

we had District meeting, and then the rest of the day me and Elder
Reece went out working in Kokomo! They wanted to go on another exchange
so we did. So for the 4th of July there was a lot going on in Kokomo. We
went and PC the Car Show and talked to people and gave them cards and
read some verses from the Book of Mormon with them, and we went Trolley
Tracting and it was a lot of fun. We beat to teach and played basketball
but the biggest miracle happened that night. So Smashmouth, the guy
that sings the Shrek theme songs was in Kokomo and was at this Festival
at our park so we went to that and saw him which was fun, but as we're
walking around this huge park with a bunch of people there, this girl
who looked like she was 12 tapped Elder Reece on the shoulder. Now I
know why we were supposed to be at the concert/fair. So she said "Are
you guys missionaries? and Elder Reece said Ya and she asked us if we
could pray with her. So we're walking and talking to her and she tells
us she is 20 and just got out of jail and is about to cry and she tells
us she is homeless and she went to jail for drugs. So we talked to her
for a while and she was starving so Elder Reece bought her food. It was a
huge miracle, we invited her to church, and she wants to come.</div>

these 4 hispanic guys sitting on their porch, haha I tried speaking
spanish to them and they offered me beer, and I said No and they said
Why it's good and so we walked off haha. We helped Sister Stearman clean
up her lawn and she sprayed the stuff to kill slugs, I've never seen
slugs until then. We also helped Dennis Bergendorf a non member, put up a
huge ladder and take it down.</div>

Monday - So Monday we went to the
Lafayette Stake Center and played basketball. A kid from the ward there
and an adult played with us. After we played for a couple hours we all
went to Triple X, this restaraunt. You guys have to look it up! The guy
from the Food Channel went there, It's in West Lafayette and it's a
famous place. I got this meal they named after Drew Brees. He played at
Purdue. They have Peanut butter hamburgers. After that we drove back to
Kokomo and drove through the country and the little small towns and as
we're driving back we see this huge storm coming in and lightning like
I've never seen before. The sky was turning green and everyone thought
there was gonna be a tornado hahaha. We were on the freeway and couldn't
see anything in front of us.</div>

Tuesday - Tuesday morning we had
our last conference call with President Cleveland. We had a good day, we
we're going by Former Investigators and one of them was Davina, she
wants to come to our church, she wants to get her 6 year old boy
involved in church and it was a miracle we went to her house and met
her. That night we went to the Corriveau's, he showed us all his guns,
he was 19 and went to war and drove convoys for the Marine's, and he was
less active for a lot of his life, and then he met his wife who was not
a member and he had a family member that was getting married and
neither of them could go in the Temple, and his wife asked why, she
ended up being converted and now they're strong members. We grilled and
had a good cookout.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
Wednesday - Wednesday we did service for
the Salvation Army. We visited Sister Hazelton, she can't come to church
because of Health Problems but she's from Louisiana and made us the
best soup. We had dinner with the Cunninghams, I would send you a
picture we took with them but after we took the picture we realized
Brother Cunningham was in his Garment top with a button up shirt
un-buttoned so I can't send it, haha. They are so funny to be around
though. </div>

after District Meeting, Elder Reece and Elder Baldwin wanted to blitz
Kokomo, so I went with Elder Reece and we we're riding bikes all over
Kokomo. I go with him to see a guy they just met and they taught him and
said they could come back. We had an appointment and knock on his door,
he answers and Elder Reece asks if we can come in, he says actually I
talked to my Pastor and he said I shouldn't talk to you guys, and my
wife also said to stay away from you guys. So we said in a nice way
"You're pastor might be a great man, but he's nowhere near God and God
will answer your question on if you should talk with us or not" and we
said a lot more to him and it ended up being a good lesson and he said
he would pray about it. After that we were riding through the park and
we stopped and talked to this guy that was walking, it turned out to be
the Pitcher for the Minor League baseball team in Kokomo so we shared a
scripture with him and we were actually planning on going to the game
that night. We also talked to a jewish lady walking her dog. We came to a
highway and we were trying to decide which way to go to get water, it
was 100 degrees outside and so I guessed and said straight. Me and Elder
Reece start riding a little bit and we took the wrong way, but there
we're 2 people sitting out on the porch both smoking. So I said "Let's
go talk to them" we teach them the Restoration and they both wanted to
be baptized! It was a miracle. We then went and got some water and got
on the trolley. We rode around on the trolley and talked to people. The
trolley is the best place to talk to people because they can't get away
from us, they have to listen to us. Hahaha. We met a kid named Darrin,
he was looking fo a job, and the last time he went to church was in
SouthBend a long time ago. He said he felt the spirit while we were
talking to him and we told him our church can help find jobs. We also
met a lady that started asking us all these questions, that are church
believes in and she believes in too, she wasn't completely there though
and she wasn't accountable so we couldn't really teach her, but we gave
her a card and said "God be with you till we meet again" and she said
"Yes we will meet again as spirits" That night we went to the Ruberson's
for dinner. Elder Woolsey got these Free golf clubs from Salvation Army
and the Ruberson's live on a golf course, so he asked if he could got
out on their course and hit some balls and so he did, but he couldn't
hit any balls, he just dug holes trying to hit them hahaha. After dinner
me and Elder Reece went to the baseball game with a recent convert. We
we're walking around and everyone was staring at us and 2 workers came
up and told us we can't proselyte, we weren't going to but it was funny.
After the game we went and talked to Sam (the pitcher we met earlier)
on the field and talked to him. He's a nice guy. 2 mormon missionaries
in white shirts walking around the field talking to baseball players
haha. it was dark and we had to ride bikes home and Elder Reece has only
been in Kokomo for 2 weeks so he barely knew how to get around, so we
stopped at corners and prayed about with way to go. Personal Liahona's
work Elder Bednar is right. We made it home.</div>

School, Clyde Allen and investigator, said that our 2 talks hit him in
the heart so that was good. After church we we're tracting and we were
dripping sweat because it was 107 outside and we had been having a good
day and this this happened, we knock on this door, a guy answers and we
invite him to church and give him a card, and he says "me and my wife
have been looking for a church, we just moved here" and then his wife
comes running up and she's like "Do you do a bible study?" We said " No
but we want to start one up" and so we start teaching, she said she's
been praying and praying that she'd find a church and she knew we were
an answer to her prayer and she knew God led us to her. We teach them
both the Restoration and invite them to be baptized, they both say "Of
course!" God truly did lead us to them :) We then went to the
Bergendorf's for dinner, Barbara Bergendorf is a member but her husband
isn't and they invited friends over. So their friends are walking in and
Dennis Bergendorf (Her husband) says "Bob looks like a hippy" and I
looked and he did, so I figured they weren't members of the church, but
Bob and Wendy are! They used to be hippies, and they converted in 1981
and he told us there conversion story. It's been a great week! We had 4
investigators at church, this place is prepared to hear the Gospel :) I
love you guys and miss you so much! on their brand new floor. After playing basketball all day we left and
headed back to Frankfort for a dinner appointment we had with the
Roberts who are members.<br />

Tuesday - Tuesday morning we went with
Brother Brackett and did some of his Home teaching with him, President
Cleveland really likes us to do that, and we visited less actives. It
was a lot of fun, I always like being around Brother Brackett. It was
raining like crazy in Frankfort that morning. He took is back and we
worked the rest of the day, had a lot of success and the Roberts were
leaving on vacation to Utah so they invited us over to their house and
gave us all their food out of their fridge and filled up bags of food
for us. </div>

was the goodbye farewell for President and Sister Cleveland. The
conference was focused on beginning and endings. A missionary gave a
comment during the conference and President Cleveland said "Praise to
the Lord" and it made everyone laugh. He really has been converted to
Indiana because everyone here says that hahaha. After the conference we
took pictures, had Rise n Roll (An amish bakery) but me and Elder Coon
didn't eat any, I think we were the only ones. After all of that was
finished we headed back to Frankfort to work! We tried visiting a lot of
people that told us we could come back, we talked to Cleadus and Carol,
and Cleadus wants to come to church! He's grown up baptist, and his dad
was Southern Baptist, but he might be coming to church <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_913431462" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">next sunday</span></span>, we'll be working on him this week! That night we had dinner at the Cross', they have family that live in Bountiful! </div>

we took our laundry to the member that does it for us, we helped a lady
move into our apartment complex, we're going to invite her to church
and try and start teaching her. We did service at the Frankfort Library,
we went over to the Courthouse with one of the Library workers and got
files and then we started filing them at the library. Had a good
appointment with Spencer Jordan, he is a 21 year old kid that's a son of
a Pentecostal Preacher, and he wants to just teach us his beliefs and
ask us all these questions so i asked him if I could borrow his laptop
and I read him talks by Jeffrey Holland, and Gordon B. Hinckley and then
our church doctrine on <a data-saferedirecturl="https://www.google.com/url?hl=en&q=http://lds.org&source=gmail&ust=1466691174404000&usg=AFQjCNFNcOTtSleK9XNpgSexJ_PbvOUvxA" href="http://lds.org/" target="_blank">lds.org</a>. </div>

morning we tracted for a couple hours and found 1 person, that said we
could come back tonight and teach her, maybe that's the reason we
tracted that street! We visited more people and tracted all day, it's
hot and humid now! </div>

we tracted for a long time, texted Spencer Jordan and answered all his
questions all day, had a good lesson with Allyse Barker. She hasn't been
baptized yet, but I think she will get baptized soon. She told us she
knows our church is the True church, she didn't understand why we had so
many 70's and leaders and we told her Jesus had a 70 when he was her
and God is a God of order, and the leaders keep everything organized. We
also had a good lesson with a lady named Gloria Laverty, we did some
service for her and clipped some bushes and sprayed weeds and then we
invited her to church and talked to her about the Book of Mormon. She
came to church too! Later that night we had coordination meeting with
Brother Brackett.</div>

we got to church early, we had 4 investigators at church! 1 of them is
Clyde Allen, a member found him for us so we're going to start teaching
him, he's doing the Addiction Recovery Program in Lafayette because he
was an alcoholic. He stayed for all 3 hours, it was fun to be in
Priesthood with him. After church we talked to the Branch President,
President Heavilon, for about an hour, he's a real nice guy. We just
talked about guns with him haha. After church we went and visited Harvey
Ruse and he showed us all his guns. We then went to a cookout at a
recent converts house, it was really good because we got to talk to a
lot of non-members. We visited less actives and tried contacting and
meeting them and we took some Lds Books to them to read. The teachings
of the Presidents books. It's been a very successful week and this next
week should be good too! I love you guys! 8 months! Woah. I miss you
guys!Amy Hadfieldhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06166778519179405975noreply@blogger.com0
